JG Folsky Releases New Album

JG Folsky's new release, Flying, is now available.
Despite the inspiration for the album, Flying is not filled with Celtic music. While there are small Celtic influences here and there, the release is firmly rooted in the alt country and folk genres.
The ten songs on the album are based on stories form the book Legendary Ireland written by Eithne Massey. Instead of being literal translations of the legends, they are songs with themes inspired by the legends. JG explains,
"Despite being thousands of years old, the lessons from these stories are just as relevant in today's world. I hope this album provokes both an interest in Irish legends and reflections on our current society."
JG will be supporting the release with live dates in Oct, 2024.

JG Folsky's newest release will be available on June 27, 2024.
JG Folsky's new release, Flying, was inspired by Eithne Massey's book, Legendary Ireland. The album is a collection of songs inspired by 10 ancient Irish legends. JG explains how the album came to be,
"In the summer of 2023 I spent several weeks in Ireland. In one of the small towns I picked up the book Legendary Ireland written by Eithne Massey. When I returned to Canada I immersed myself in the book. At this time I was just beginning work on a new collection of songs and I began noticing that the themes from the legends were starting to work their way into the songs. I decided to embrace this fact and specifically align each song with one of the legends. I believe the themes from these ancient stories are just as relevant today as they were thousands of years ago."
Flying will be available on all major streaming platforms on June 27, 2024.
